Traveling abroad

It has been a long time since I have blogged. Since then much has happened, I have been traveling First I went to Arizona, then Texas and many more places. I am still traveling. My journey will end with Alaska and I should be back home in three months. It has been such a great experience and I have met so many new and wonderful people.

It has been a lifelong dream of mine to visit Alaska and paint or sketch the Northern Lights and my dream is finally coming true :) I wish you all the best, goodbye for now.

Nothing better than curling up with an awesome book. Especially on rainy days or when things just haven't gone as planned.

Ted Dekker is by far my favorite author. I would recommend his books in a heartbeat. :) Happy reading!

To be Different or Not to be Different. That is the Question.

So this evening, I went out onto the town with some family just to spend some time together. As you all know, I have a fohawk/ mohawk. It looks like this: (the young woman in the picture is not me, that's just what my hair looks like) 

 

I got so many stares... and it just made me think how much people base on physical appearance. I'm not saying I'm exempt, I admit that on more than one occasion I have judged someone based on their appearance...Even in this age of tolerance so many people still seem to be so threatened by anything that is different. Anyways... Just kinda got me to thinking... That's all for now to anyone that's reading. If nobody's reading... well hey I guess it's like a journal right? 

New Year's Resolution

Who says that resolutions have to be EXACTLY on New Year's day? The year is still fairly new right? ...
 Lately I've been going through 'artist's block'. My creative ideas and sketch ideas come in spurts and for some reason, lately I've found myself having to look for inspiration rather than it just coming to me. But after skimming through many sketch blogs, I have been inspired. I have decided to keep a sketch book and instead of feeling pressured to make every sketch a grand masterpiece, I will simply sketch small things that reflect my mood. Maybe this way I'll start to feel more inspired and sketch more often like I used to. Wish me luck!

Very first Blog

Well, here I am. Making a blog is something that I've wanted to do for a while now. It always seemed like a fun thing to do. Right now I'm simply writing to myself because as of yet, I have no followers. But perhaps in a few months someone will be reading this :) I would like to share with whoever might be reading this a quick sketch of mine so you get an idea of the type of things I do.
